With a dynamic career spanning diverse legal fields, Tynishia Powell is an accomplished attorney whose expertise encompasses compliance management, contract negotiation, and human resource strategy. Tynishia has a proven track record of enhancing operational efficiencies and navigating complex legal frameworks in both domestic and international arenas.

During her tenure as in-house counsel at a Fortune 500 manufacturing company, Tynishia spearheaded the design and implementation of a Microsoft PowerApps platform, revolutionizing procurement workflows and driving a successful realignment strategy.  Her role extended beyond legal advisory to encompass training domestic and international teams, ensuring they are well-versed in compliance and best practices.

Prior to her in-house position, Tynishia held the position of Senior Associate Counsel and Compliance Manager at a local government agency in Pittsburgh.  There, she expertly supervised a team of seven, managing compliance across multiple operating departments and providing invaluable legal counsel on contracts and transactional documents.

Tynishia’s legal journey began as a Clerk to the District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, where she honed her analytical skills by drafting opinions on critical legal issues.  She also served as the Intellectual Property Coordinator for a start-up, where she analyzed intellectual property strategies, further broadening her expertise.

In addition to her extensive professional experience, Tynishia is committed to education and mentorship.  She has delivered numerous training presentations on key legal concepts, such as the Right to Know Law of Pennsylvania and bias in the legal profession.  Her published works in the Lawyers Journal and the United States Patent and Trademark Office showcase her dedication to sharing knowledge and advancing legal discourse.

Tynishia is an active member of the Montgomery County Bar Association reinforcing her commitment to the legal community.  Her accolades include being named Recent Graduate of the Year by the Duquesne Law Women’s Law Association and receiving multiple scholarships during her studies at Duquesne University School of Law and Drexel University.

Holding a Juris Doctor from Duquesne University and a Certificate in Human Resource Management, Tynishia combines legal acumen with a keen understanding of human resource dynamics.  Her negotiation expertise, paired with her ability to work efficiently in remote environments, positions her as a versatile and strategic asset in any legal landscape.

In her free time, Tynishia loves to practice the French language and explore local walking trails with her husband and two children.
